The student leadership of KNUST Cadet Corp has paid a courtesy call on the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Donkor, to deliberate on measures aimed at strengthening security and maintaining discipline in the various halls of residence on campus.
In a statement, the General Officer Commanding KNUST Cadet Corp, Cadet Captain Daniel Kweku Donkor who doubles as the Commanding Officer of Republic Hall Army Cadet, stressed the need to enhance security on campus, particularly in the traditional halls of residence. He further suggested that organsing seminars on security related topics in collaboration with the security agencies including the military and the police create security consciousness and alertness among students.
Cadet Captain Donkor stated emphatically that "Cadet was established for the safety of resident students in the halls"; adding that it was imperative for student cadets to be positioned at vantage areas so as to help maintain discipline in the various halls. He was confident that security education would enhance the smooth-running of activities of the University campus, particularly for fresh students during orientation.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Donkor, in his remarks, commended the KNUST Cadet Corp Executives for their pragmatic recommendations for crime prevention and maintainance discipline in the halls. He pledged unflinching support of the University's Executive, and called for a mutual collaboration between the KNUST Cadet Corp and the Security Department through a mutual collaboration.
Among the other Executives of KNUST Cadet Corp present were: Cadet Squadron Leader Emmanuel Ehun, Adjutant and the Commanding Officer of Royal Airforce Cadet Corp (Queens' Hall); Cadet Captain Hope Gakpo, Senior Ensign and the Commanding Officer of University Hall Cadet; and Cadet Lt. Commander Noah Arthur, Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) and the Independence Hall Naval Cadet.
Other cadet officers who were missing in the picture were: Cadet Captain Henry A. Okoe, Second-in-Command (2IC) of KNUST Cadet Corp and the Commanding Officer of Unity Hall Army Cadet; and Cadet Captain Comfort Omare, Junior Ensign and the Commanding Officer of Africa Hall Army Cadet.
